Who is better, Prophet Muhammad or Prophet Yunus?

The Prophet mentioned in a saheeh hadith:

…Whoever says, I am better than (Prophet) Yunus ibn Matta has lied. [Ibn Maajah]

Our noble Shaykh of Madeenah ’Abdul Muhsin al-’Abbaad said explaining this:

What is known is that the Prophet is the best of creation and the scholars explain this hadith in different ways. Some say the word “I” does not mean the Prophet himself, but rather any other slave, (meaning if a muslim was to say I am better than Yunus) this is because a person might read the story of Yunus and think bad of him (which is not  allowed).

Another explanation is that this was said by the Prophet before he  truly knew his high-ranking, or that it is out of humbleness and to defend his fellow Prophet.

How to get accepted into Madeenah Uni

Now there is no simple answer or way to this, as muslims we believe in the Qadr of Allah. If it is written for you it will happen and if not then do not be sad about it. Disclaimer!  Please remember this is in no way a promise, even if you did implement these things it does not guarantee your acceptance. 1. Sincerity Ask yourself, why do you want to go to Madeenah and study? Is it to become someone? To make a name for yourself? Most of you might say of course not, but then ask yourself, are you actively seeking knowledge where you are now? If not, what makes you think you will do so in Madeenah? 2. Du'aa from the Parents This is very important, yet we see a lot of people wasting this opportunity. They might feel shy etc. Be kind to your parents and ask them to make du'aa for you, remind them constantly. The Prophet told us that the du'aa of the parent  is always accepted so make the most of it. When I applied to the uni, my father took me to his father all the way in Somalia, now my grandfather is a bedouin about 90 years old, so when we came there my father entered my grandfathers little hut explaining to him that I wanted to go to the city of the Prophet and learn the Qur'aan and the Sunnah, afterwards I was called in and my grandfather made a lot of du'aa for me. The point is, try to get du'aa from your parents, uncles, even righteous (living) people in general. 3. Know someone here  When applying, try to come here in person have all your papers ready, if possible try to get a senior student to go with you into the office and by senior I mean a doctor or the likes of it. Be open and polite, try to get across how much you want this, inform them about the ignorance that is prevalent back home, basically pour your heart out within limits and do not lie or be too forceful. 4. Memorize the Qur'aan  Memorize the entire Qur'aan or as much of it as you can, it will really improve your chances. The haafidh of the Qur'aan is blessed in this world and the hereafter, the fact that you made time in your life and finished the book of Allah will show that you are a serious student and every muslim respects a haafidh when he meets one. 5. Keep trying  If you do not get in the first time you apply, keep applying, I personally know a few brothers who got accepted not the first time not even the second time but the third time they applied, so do not give up! That's it for now, but as a last point of advice, do not get your heart attached to much, meaning a lot of people apply every year and only a few people get accepted, make  your aim seeking knowledge whether it is in Madeenah or not, apply to other places aswell, keep your options open. If you go for an interview do not get nervous, make du'aa and Allah will help you. When I applied for the uni I applied for the faculty of Qur'aan, I was so nervous because you had to be haafidh for this faculty and they actually test your Qur'aan but I had been ill for a while and hadn't reviewed it properly. So I sat there thinking to myself you will surely flunk now Aboo Thaabit! How can you revise the whole Qur'aan in two mins?! So I opened up my Qur'aan and it opened up on Surah al-An'aam I just started reading thinking to myself how silly is this? Then the old man called me in and said to me, so you're a haafidh, I cleared my throat and said Alhamdulilah I am, so he opened his Qur'aan and guess what? He tells me to read the exact same verses I just read!
