This is perhaps the one poem by Imaam Shaafiee I love the most! Do not just skip the arabic and read the english try reading both it is very beautiful.
إن لله عبــادا فـــطنا طلقوا الدنيا وخافـوا الفتنا
Verily to Allah belongs slaves with intellect — They divorced [left off] this dunyah and were afraid of fitnah
نظــروا فيهـا فلما علموا أنها ليـست للـحي وطنا
They looked into it [i.e this world] and upon realizing — That indeed it is not an abode for the living [i.e everyone will come to die]
جــعلوها لجــة واتخذوا صالح الأعمـال فيها سفنا
So they percieved it as a stormy ocean [that would bring destruction] and they took — Their good deeds as ships therein [in order to survive]
I know you said not to click, but I just had to. and now I do not regret! Masha’Allah.
Jazakumullahu Khair.
Asalaamu alaykum warahmatulahi walbarakaatu;
You know, when you think in that manner, that everthing will die, and that the best thing you can do for yourself is divorce this world, it sometimes feels too good to be true and so far off not to mention so hard. So I ask, how can one divorce such a demanding world with great influece? For,how can a slave be thoughtful and sincere if they do not accomplish what they know is dear to Allah>? Am I making any sense?
May Allah Reward you Khaldun.
Allah Kknows best.
