Don’t make du’a!
Sa'eed bin Jubayr used to own a roaster, and it used to wake him up for the night prayers (salah al-Layl). But one night the roaster never woke Sa'eed up, so he never prayed that night.
This troubled Sa'eed greatly and he said 'What's wrong with it? May Allaah cut off its voice!' And after that, the roaster never made any sound whatsoever.
Sa'eed's mother told him, 'O my dear son, never make du'a against anything ever again!'
